6) Contacts with other carers

If you would like to make contact with other stroke carers there are options to do this.

If the person is still in hospital, ask if there is a relatives or carers meeting or a hospital liaison officer for carers.

By joining a carers group or organisation you will be sent newsletters and fact sheets which advertise local events for carers to attend. Some of the carer organisations have groups which are specifically for male carers.

Some organisations may have volunteers who are carers or former carers who give their time to visit you at home or make contact by phone.
