If you feel you have a specific need for training, check with your local carer center. Other carers may also have asked for a similar course and if there are sufficient numbers it may be possible to run a course or get a specialist speaker to do a question and answer presentation. By being in contact with a carer center you will also get support from other carers who may have similar experiences.

Your carer center may be able to advise you of online courses to meet your need.

Also free online Stroke Core Competencies – this training is aimed for paid care workers who are new to working with stroke but many of the sections are useful for unpaid stroke carers and families too.
